With peaceful hearts and spirits, our precious family announces that Beryl Jones Griffiths, aged 91, completed her earthly legacy and went on to embrace her sweetheart Ken on Friday, May 14th, 2021. There isn't paper enough to memorialize a life so impactful and rich in experience. Reserved, humble, educationally gifted, and a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Beryl fervently strived to serve and love her family, friends, and community. Shortly after receiving her B.S. from The University of Utah in Education, Beryl married Kenneth Albert Griffiths in the Salt Lake Temple on August 25th, 1952 and they embarked on the journey of a lifetime.
This extraordinary woman was the keystone to her family, and she cherished and supported her husband and their five sons (Mark, Evan, Ross, Neal, and Paul) who were "the most important focus of [their] lives." Amid travels with Ken's career in education/social work and their stalwart involvement with the Church, Beryl was ever patient and selfless, an exemplary teacher and mother to everyone she crossed paths with, including people of Alaska, the Navajo and Apache Nations, New Mexico, and Australia. An eloquent writer of family history, church organist, school teacher, seminary teacher, Relief Society President, and dignified matriarch, Beryl had a beautiful, steadfast testimony of the Gospel. Family was paramount, and Beryl was stalwart in ensuring this; hosting family get-togethers, writing postcards and letters, assisting with fishing trips, baking bread and crafting concord grape jelly, picking and drying fruit from the family orchard, are only a few of her endeavors.
Indicative of her tender spirit, Beryl often recorded the beauty around her: "orange blooming 'Christmas trees'... twinkling of thousands of candles...roses as delicate as butterflies... a perfect white arrow head just after a rainstorm." Beryl is reunited with her husband Ken, sons Mark and Neal and many other family members and is survived by her sons, Evan, Ross, Paul, and extended family.
