Benjamin Dominic Trujillo

It is with great sadness that that the family of Benjamin Dominic Trujillo regrets to announce his passing on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020 at the age of 37 years. Benjamin grew up in South Jordan and later Bluffdale, Utah. He graduated from Riverton High School. Right out of high school Benjamin worked as a hod tender and eventually worked his way up to brick mason. His work ethic was incredible. His physical strength was unmatched. He was proud of the work he did and loved being a mason. Nothing in the world gave him more joy or happiness than his son Jaxon. He loved their moments together; fishing, baking cakes, going to movies, going out to dinner an any other activity they could do together. Benjamin had one of the sweetest souls. One time he went to work, and a guy had on some old beat up shoes, Benj took the shoes off of his feet and gave them to the guy. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and would go cold, and be happy about it, as long as he knew the person that he gave it to was warm. He never looked for recognition, he just wanted to be helpful and didn't want others to suffer. He loved his parents dearly. He'd often cook them meals, help dad out with the physical stuff around the house, like loading the hay, you know, the hard-heavy lifting stuff. Benjamin struggled with alcoholism and fought the battle every day. He wanted to be sober, but the addiction was stronger than he was. Along with the addiction came the suffering of a tortured soul that eventually became too unbearable. His huge heart was just too much for this world. He will be missed by many. We will miss his contagious laugh, his smile, his food, his love, his selfless heart, how handsome he was, the moments we never got to have or the ones we will never get to have, and of course, just having him here with us.

Benj, we love you so much. We know you are at peace now and hope you can finally feel all the love everyone has for you! WE LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER!!

Our family wants to send a huge appreciation and thanks to all who have reached out to us, sent flowers, the phone calls, text messages, Facebook posts and to the police and first responders who showed up and helped. Your compassion, love and prayers have helped during this hard time.

Benjamin is survived by his parents, Ben Trujillo and Mary Ann Huntsman Trujillo, his son Jaxon Trujillo, his brother Damian Trujillo, his sisters Vanessa Trujillo and Angela Trujillo, his nieces, Aryanna and Destiny, his Godfather Henry Trujillo, all of his aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers.
