Words could never describe the love we feel for the head of our grateful family, Benjamin Cutler, age 80, passed away at his home peacefully, December 30, 2018, surrounded by family members. Benjamin was born in Midvale, Utah on January 19, 1938 to Benjamin Lewis Cutler and Nellie Helena Sharp. He was the third of ten children.
As a child, he loved to participate in sports. He especially loved to play basketball. As he grew older, he played at Jordan High School where he was captain of his basketball team and earned All-State honors. It was in high school where he met the love of his life, Patricia Fitzgerald. They were married on August 19, 1957. After high school, he earned a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Utah. His love of athletics continued into his later years as he ran over thirty marathon races. His last race being at age 75. He also loved playing basketball with his Senior Olympic team.
Benjamin worked as an agent with State Farm Insurance for over fifty years where he acquired many friends and clients. His love for work was apparent, he retired last March. He wanted to thank all of his work associates and clients who supported him throughout his career.
He is survived by his children, Colette (Eddy) Bakker, Curtis (Tami) Cutler, Charlotte (John) Van Ry, Cindy Domecq; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Fred Cutler; sisters, Barbara Warner and Charleen Cutler. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Max, Clinton, Robert, Curtis Wayne and James Cutler; sister, Glenda Sharp.
Benjamin would also like to thank all of the care givers who waited on him with great kindness and love.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Corner Canyon 3rd Ward, 13350 S. Aintree Ave. (1750 E.), Draper, Utah. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral service from 9:00 a.m to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Draper City Cemetery.
