Benjamin Brett Haun, 19, passed away on October 14, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by family and friends due to heart complications from a birth defect. He was born on March 30, 1999 to Brett Allen Haun and Marci Holly Thomas in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ben graduated from Kearns High School and was a cart attendant at Wal-Mart. He enjoyed watching TV, playing video games, being with friends and family, going to hockey games and making people smile and laugh.
Ben loved his family and friends, especially protecting his sisters, even though he loved to tease them. He loved friends and family, watching horror movies and laughing at them, playing Pokemon with his family. He also enjoyed playing with the family cats.
Ben has always been so kind and caring to those he cared about. He was unique and different and everyone loved that about him.
Survived by his parents, Brett and Marci Haun; sisters, Kylie (Daniel) Heber and Heidi Haun; grandparents, Brent and Kathy Haun; grandmother, Joye Thomas; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his grandpa, Robert Lamar Thomas and cousins, Lili Galloway and Jesse Egbert.
A special thank you to the staff at Primary Children's Hospital, his Wal-Mart family and the two individuals that administered CPR when he collapsed in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. A viewing will take place one hour prior to the services. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
