Belva Alice Green

Belva (Bobbie) Green, beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father, eternal companion of Donald Green, mother of five children, grandmother of 14, and great grandmother of 20, was reunited with her husband on February 11, 2015.

She was born in Peoa, Utah, and spent most of her childhood there. She graduated from South Summit High School. Musically talented, she played the clarinet in the high school band and could play almost any song by ear on the piano. She loved people and enjoyed being a cheerleader in grades 7-12. She was an accomplished runner and loved baseball, basketball, and especially the Utah Jazz.

She was an experienced outdoors woman and loved to climb, hike, hunt, and fish. She also crocheted, sewed, quilted, and was handy with tools whether in the kitchen or in the garage. She loved to waterski, snow ski, and was an expert marksman with a rifle. She could light a match with her rifle from 50 yards away.

Bobbie, as she was known by her family and friends, was deeply patriotic. She loved the United States of America and those who served our country. She held the flag with the highest respect and was proud to display it. She supported her husband, who served in the US Army during World War II, and contributed to the cause by serving in the US Army Civilian Corp as a Classified Document Courier, processed Italian prisoners of war after they were freed from the Nazis, and wiped rust-prevention lubricants onto weapons prior to shipment to war fronts.

Bobbie had many opportunities to travel with Don around the world. Her favorite trip was to the shores of Galilee where she walked where our Savior walked when He was on the earth. She loved the Savior and followed his example of loving little children. She loved teaching Primary. She would often point to the children and say just how much she loved them. One of her greatest joys was cradling her grandchildren and kissing them. She could often be heard saying, "Aren't they just grand!"

Bobbie was selfless giving of her time and resources to help those in need. Her love for the gospel was evident in the way she lived her life. At a very early age, she had an abiding faith and love in her Heavenly Father and in his Son, Jesus Christ. As her posterity goes on without her, they have faith that they will see her again and be reunited as an eternal family.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Eloise and Lynn Rockhill; her father, Orson Clive Maxwell; beloved husband, Donald Green; and brothers, Clive (Deana) and Leon (Roma) Maxwell. Belva is survived by her children, Sharon (Mike) Kirk; Sheila Brown; Dr. Robert D. (Hilary Le) Green; Pam (Steve) Siebenhaar; and Richard (Amber) Green.

Our family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff at Tradition Assisted Living and AFI Home, Health, and Hospice Services for their warm and compassionate care and service.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the LDS Winder 2nd Ward located at 1361 East 4000 South, Holladay, Utah. The services will include a viewing from 10 to 10:45 am with the funeral following at 11 am.
