Becky Jones, beloved Wife, Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Friend, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. She was born on June 22, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee to parents James and Sylvia McCage.
She had three siblings, Glen McCage (deceased), Pat Clausen, and Mike McCage.
Becky is survived by her husband Chuck Jones, son Wayne (Pam) and daughter Jennifer Muhlestein (John). Becky adored her grandchildren Megan, Dustin, Kelsie, and Luke, and her great-granddaughter Madelyn.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She taught them many things, including silliness and playing with their imaginations. Her house gave clues that maybe she had dozens and dozens of grandkids with all the pictures and references to them!
Becky will be remembered for her warmness, compassion and kind heart. She had an inner strength, grounded in her faith, that while seemingly quiet at first was beyond measure. She had a gift for providing care and comfort to those in need. Her home was always open for after-church BBQs and gathering of friends. Holidays were a joyous occasion around her with a lot of decorations and love.
Becky was much more fearless than people gave her credit for. She skied in the Alps, making purple ski suits the rage. She toured the castles in Europe. She tasted wine in Italy and Rome. She crossed the Royal Gorge Bridge on foot. She flew in a hot air balloon over Durango. She snowmobiled in Yellowstone. She Ziplined in Hawaii. She snorkeled with stingrays in the Caribbean.
Becky was preceded in death by her Mother Sylvia and her Grandmother Myrtle. Who knows what kind of trouble these 3 are up to right now! There is no doubt there is a lot of laughter and genuine caring.
Becky was a Sunday School teacher at First Southern Baptist church in Salt Lake City for over 20 years and also coordinated the grieving ministry - a fitting position for this loving woman.
Becky's Memorial will be hosted at Canyons Church (7000 S. 1700 E., SLC) on Saturday, October 27:
