Barbara Jean Skinner Lyon (85) passed away peacefully  May 14, 2016. She spent her final years bringing much joy to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born to Fred and Edith Skinner, in Bingham, Utah, December 2, 1930. She married her lifelong companion William Glen Lyon nearly 65 years ago. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She served in many church callings alongside her husband, including serving as a Temple Worker in the Jordan River Utah Temple. She loved doing family history, baking and spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included needle work and rockhounding and she was a longtime member of the Wasatch Gem and Mineral Society.

She is survived by her 2 sisters; Shirley Brawley, and Bonnie Lamourex, her children; Dave (Peggy) Lyon, Robert (Diane) Lyon, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her father and mother and her husband William Glen Lyon. The family wishes to express gratitude to all the kind and loving caregivers at the Lodge at Jordan River for their gracious care the last few years of her life and to the Hospice nurses who also assisted with her care. The family gives our many thanks to her devoted friend and hair dresser Lisa Lee, who came faithfully each week to keep mom looking beautiful.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the South Jordan Utah River LDS Stake Center, 1570 West 11400 South. A viewing will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and again on Saturday at the stake center from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Heber City Cemetery in Heber City, Utah at approximately 1:30-2:00 p.m.
