Barbara Munk Lunt, 89, was born January 12, 1929 in Centerfield, Utah to Louis Christian Munk and Dagmar Mortensen Munk. She passed away March 18, 2018 in Nephi, UT.
Barbara was the 7th of 11 children. She grew up in Gunnison, Utah and graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1947. Barbara married Jay Morris "Ike" Lunt on October 7, 1949 in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they raised three boys. Ike and Barbara made their first home in Nephi, where she worked at Ned's IGA, JC Penney and Ray's Café. They moved to Dugway, Utah where Ike worked Civil Service and Barbara worked in the Treasurer's Office at the Dugway Proving Grounds. They later moved back to Nephi, and Barbara worked for the Juab County Treasurer's Office until her retirement.
She enjoyed playing golf, counted cross stich and watching sports from the comfort of her favorite recliner. She was an amazing cook but was well known for her world-famous fudge.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 68 years; three children, Larry, Rod (Lynn) both of Show Low, Arizona, and Billy (Anna Marie) of Nephi, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister, 1 daughter in-law (Angel) and 1 grandson (Chris).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24th at 11:00 am at the Nephi 4th and 5th Ward Chapel, with a viewing 1 hour prior. Graveside services will be held at Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi following the funeral services.
