Darlene, 82, passed away in her home on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 in Nephi, Utah. She was born on June 9th, 1941 in Elko, Nevada to Dora and Boyce McKnight. Darlene is a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was the matriarch of the family.
Darlene was an avid horse rider/owner and was a member of the Silver Spurs Club. Darlene was married to Ray Kelsch and had three kids, Ricky, Alisha, and Todd. They later divorced. She later married James Hansen on December 14th, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since the moment they met they have remained inseparable. They built their home in Nephi, Utah in the year 2000 and were very happy together living in a log home raising and riding horses, camping, sitting by the fire, hunting, fishing and traveling the world. Darlene enjoyed watching the show Wheel of Fortune and Young and the Restless. Her loving family is eternally grateful for the many years of wisdom, joy and laughter shared together and are looking forward to seeing her again saying, “Hello Darlin”. She was a fighter and fought off a brain tumor, rectal cancer, sjogren’s disease and COVID.
Darlene is survived by her brothers, Rodney and Jack McKnight, children, Ricky, Alisha and Todd, her loving husband, James Hansen, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, her niece Sherry Fitzgerald, and special Melisa Kelsch. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Linden and Dennis McKnight, and grandson, Joshua Morgan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Anderson Funeral Home (94 west 300 north) in Nephi. Interment will be at Vine Bluff Cemetery.
