Arlou Ostler (Hatt)

ArLou Ostler (Hatt), beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed from this life into eternity on March 30, 2023. She lived an exemplary life and loved her Savior. She was born April 1, 1939 in South Jordan, Utah to Stephen Thomas Ostler and LaVern Alice Steadman. She was the sixth of eleven children. She lived most of her growing up years in South Jordan and West Jordan. She loved being with her family and doing things with her sisters. She married Thiel Fredrick Hatt on 12 March 1961, later divorced. She was blessed with 9 children, 29 grandchildren with one due to be born in July 2023, and 13 great-grandchildren. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was always concerned with their welfare both spiritually and temporally. She loved genealogy, which occupied a great deal of her time. She always had a large garden and she loved working in her yard. She loved quilting and sewing and reading her scriptures. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.

ArLou is survived by her children, Kathryn (Steve) Hansen, ReNae (Kevin) Severson, Richard (Brigitte), Paul (Angie), Tammy (Lee) Lovell, Jason (Juli), Rodrick (Kayce), Stanley (Whitney), Cynthia (Justin) Owen, 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings and a granddaughter, Janneura.

The family would like to thank Mom’s hospice nurse, Natalie who was so caring and compassionate and helped us through a very difficult time.
