Arla Boley Thomas (age 87) passed away Monday, May 2, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. Arla was born in American Fork, UT on June 3, 1934 to Davis and Margery Boley. During her life in American Fork Arla worked as a telephone operator using multiple patch cords to connect callers together.
Arla married Ray P Thomas in the Salt Lake Temple on April 29, 1960. They resided in Midvale, UT and raised 4 children. Arla was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving others. She loved having her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren around her. Arla loved to travel with her husband, family, sisters, and their families.
Arla is survived by her loving husband Ray of Midvale, UT; sons Brian (Diana) of Pullman, WA and Brent (Hayley) of Spanish Fork, UT; daughters Cynthia of Midvale, UT and Melissa Sperry (Nathan) of West Jordan, UT; and sister Elaine Kopp of Provo, UT. Arla is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Arla is predeceased by her parents, her son Bradley, her sisters Jean and Lucille, her grandson Alex and granddaughter Tesa.
Public visitation will be Friday, May 6th from 10:00 – 10:45 am at the Midvale 6th Ward building located at 8171 South Jackson St., Midvale. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the American Fork Cemetery located at 26 W. 600 N., American Fork around 1:00 pm.
