Arba Clegg Burgess

Arba Clegg Burgess passed away August 30, 2024 at her home in Levan surrounded by loved ones. Born June 29, 1943 in Malad, Idaho to Myron Earl Clegg and Nancy Ethel Howell. She was raised in Portage, Utah and later moved to Provo then Orem, Utah. 

She married the love of her life, Vernell N. Burgess on September 15, 1961 and together they had 4 children.

Mom had a passion for making such beautiful quilts. She worked for many years at Jolene’s sewing childrens clothing. She enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with her family. Her greatest love was being with her children and grandchildren, where she created many great memories.

Arba is survived by her husband, Vernell Burgess, son Ira (Anne) Burgess, daughters, Lesa (Ray) Evans, Karen Gull, Linda (Kelly) Lambourne, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, brother Myron Clegg, sisters Ann Forsgren, Nancy Houskeeper and Susan Neeley.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ron Clegg, sister, Cleone Hobson and grandson Devan Evans.

The family would like to thank the Central Valley Hospice team for such great care. A special Thank you to Angela and Teresa who went above and beyond to care for not only mom but the whole family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 at the Levan Church (25 North 100 East). Interment will be at Levan Cemetery.
