April De La Cruz, age 34, my special daughter, loved niece and friend, passed away May 29, 2016, due to a shunt hose left in her body.
April was born March 31, 1982 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She was adopted by Ada De La Cruz when she was three months old. Thanks to America, she lived for 34 years. A special thanks to Dr. David Falland and Dr. Paula Petersen from Primary Childrens Hospital, for their loving attention and care of April; and thanks to the staff members of surrounding hospitals as well.
Thank you is expressed to all the student nurses who came to bathe her at home and later in their professions, saw her in the hospitals. The love you showed her is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Senator Orrin Hatch for his assitance in awarding April her legal USA residency. April died as an American Citizen.
April is survived by her mother, Ada De La Cruz, Taylorsville; uncles and aunts, Marcia (Martha) De La Cruz, Midvale; Martha (Stuart) Armstrong, West Valley; Emma (Randy) Taylor, Midvale; Elena (Douglas) Lowe, Castle Dale; Elias De La Cruz, Taylorsville; Estela (Tracy) Kennard, West Jordan; Elvira (Francisco) Vizcaino, Midvale; Sandra (Michael) McCurdy, West Jordan; Sonia (Michael) Gregory, Midvale.
Funeral services and a celebration of April's life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary 8090 So State, Midvale, where a viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
