Anthony Joeel Pantoja was born on September 10, 2005 in Eagle Pass, Texas and passed from this life on June 24, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was 15 years old. Anthony is the oldest son of Luis Bernardo Alba and Yency Eliadora Leija Alba and the oldest of 6 children.
Anthony had a heart of gold, a pure soul, happy and grateful attitude, and a SMILE! He was everybody's instant friend! He held no malice or ill will for anybody and didn't judge others. Everybody got another chance to do right by him. Anthony wanted to be like Jesus so he loved us ALL with all his heart.
One of his greatest accomplishments was that he was a very dedicated BIG brother, was constantly keeping track of his sisters and brother and making sure they were safe from any harm. He would carry his siblings everywhere he could until they got too big or heavy for him. He would make up stories and then make them into small story books and read them. If something scary was going on (movies, the Ferris wheel, doctor or hospital visits, etc.) he would always say, "No tengas miedo. Tu te agarras de mi." (Don't be scared. Just hang on to me.)
Anthony had a great imagination, a keen mind and he loved to write, do puzzles, watch movies, go to the D.I. or Michael's to buy craft supplies, make boondoggle key chains, feed the ducks at the duck pond, listening to music, dancing, Family Reunions, and helping to plan the NEXT BIG ADVENTURE for the family. He always had his sketch pads with him so that he could write down ideas or draw things as they came to him. He was a little bit of a mad scientist and always wanted to try a new experiment or two. When he made up his mind to do something, he always wanted to do it "Right Now!"
Anthony loved to serve others. One of his goals was to become a surgeon so that he could help others, so he was constantly studying the human body and how it worked in books and on the internet. He wanted to know everything there was to know about many other subjects as well, and would share his knowledge with others.
On Sundays he would wake up really early and go to Church with his Grandpa Lalo. He wanted to be one of the very first ones there so he could greet each person, one by one, as they got there. By the time his family got there he had already found someone that needed a friend that day and he would sit with them. Anthony was always the first one to share his testimony. Anthony set and accomplished the goals of Baptism, Confirmation, receiving the Aaronic Priesthood so that he could pass the Sacrament and now, he is a Missionary! His other goal was to be sealed to his family.
Anthony is survived by his mother, father, (sisters) Kaylee, Alissa, Matilde, Agripina, (brother) Bernardo, (grandpa) Israel (Lalo) Alba, (uncles) Eduardo (Eddy) Alba, Israel (Lalo Jr.) Alba, Ted Chatter, (aunt) Guadalupe (Lupe) Alba Chatter, (cousin) Sabino A. Chatter, and hundreds of Primos and Friends!
He was preceded in death by his (grandma) Matilde Hernandez Alba, (aunt) Matilde (Mati) Alba, and (great grandfather) Juan Manuel Leija.
