Anna Faye Gittins Christensen passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, in Bountiful, Utah. She was born June 5, 1931 in Smithfield, Utah, a daughter of Howard Craghead Gittins and Sarah Ann Haslam. She was raised in Cache Valley and Layton, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School. On August 12, 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, George Elvin Christensen. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 64 years. Faye was a well-known seamstress in the Bountiful area. She worked many years doing alterations for Bountiful Cleaners, Keith O�Brien, Mr. Mac, and Johnstown, Ltd. She later owned her own tailor shop in Salt Lake City. After retiring, she and her husband lived for a time in Hemet, California; Makaha, Hawaii; and Colorado then returning to Bountiful. They served a temple mission in the Bountiful, Utah temple. Faye loved gardening, traveling, swimming, boating, Lake Powell, Hawaii, and anywhere the sun shone the warmest. She was a strong, independent woman, with a sweet and kind disposition. She was the ultimate peacemaker, always wanting everyone to get along. She is survived by her husband, children Diana (Terry) Hawks, Linda Ross, Steven (Susan) Christensen, Connie (Kevin) Neeser, Ross Christensen, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with another one on the way, brother Gary Gittins and sister Dixie Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Gittins, Jr., sisters Leola Dallin and Donna Fife, daughter Nanette Olney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Val Verda 5th Ward Chapel (2633 South 50 West, Bountiful).
