Mabel Ann Ward Smith passed away July 13, 2018, surrounded by family. Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, March 1, 1938, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Smith; sons Kenneth J Smith Jr (Glori), Thomas J Smith, Kelly J Smith (Myrnel), Timothy J Smith (Dana), Jon T. Smith (A.J.) and daughter Patricia Ann Smith Simper (Daniel); 26 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren (with one on the way); and her brother Dale (Butch) Ward.
Ann, as she was known by many, raised her family with her spouse of nearly 64 years, in Wyoming, Alaska and Japan. They were married on September 5, 1954 and sealed for time and all eternity, November 22, 2005 in the Denver Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ann's life revolved around family, but she was also an avid gardener, particularly of flowers. She also loved to cook, sew, and craft unique gifts for her family and friends. Ann and Ken had recently moved to Moroni, Utah from LaGrange, Wyoming where she had grown up and lived since retiring from their home in Alaska. She was active in her church and community throughout her life.
Ann will be deeply missed, but we know that she is safe and no longer bound by her mortal limitations
A memorial service in Ann's honor will be held at 1:00 p.m., July 16, 2018 in the Moroni, Utah Stake Center.
