Ann Denece Burns Robinson passed away December 12, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born May 19, 1936 in Beaver, Utah to John Benjamin and Minnie Ann Burton Burns. She was raised in Salt Lake City with loving parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
In April of 1953, a handsome young man who was just discharged after serving in the United States Army, moved in next door. Soon a friendship was formed, then love for one another and on November 2, 1953, Leonard H. Robinson and Ann Denece Burns were married. They were later sealed in the Manti Utah Temple on July 26, 1991. They were blessed with 8 wonderful children. Leonard passed away on March 28, 2000 in Nephi.
Ann Denece spent her childhood and was educated in Salt Lake City. She had many fond memories of time spent with her siblings and her Grandma Burns. She also loved spending time with family and friends when she was able to visit with her Burton grandparents in Nephi.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in all auxiliaries, including visiting teacher and ministering for over 60 years and funeral luncheon coordinator. She sang in ward and community choirs. She served faithfully in the Manti Utah Temple.
When she was 8 years old, she appeared in a picture on the cover of the Children’s Friend. At age 10, she sang in a Primary Choir during General Conference in the Tabernacle when the hymn, “The Light Divine” was introduced to the Church. It remained one of her favorite hymns.
She was active in the community, volunteering and serving in many capacities. In 2010, she was selected Woman of the Year by the Miss Nephi Committee and was honored to be part of the tree lighting of the community Christmas tree.
She was an avid sports fan of Juab Sports, BYU, Jazz, and KC Chiefs. She supported her children and grandchildren in whatever they were involved in - sports, Provita, cheerleading, band concerts, dance reviews, and piano recitals.
She loved to travel. She enjoyed going on trips and tours with her Kendall cousins. She loved to go, but was always happy to come home to her family and great neighbors whom she appreciated and loved. Special thanks to Niels, Judy, and Reed Jensen for their love and help through the years.
Family was the most important part of her life. She never missed a baby shower, wedding, baptism, blessing, mission, primary program, barbecue, Easter camp, Thanksgiving, or Christmas celebration.
Mom loved her father-in-law and brothers and sisters-in-law. She was grateful for the many good times spent with them and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; sons, Jeffery and Todd; daughter, Candy; brothers, Lloyd and Ben; sisters, Marilyn and Jaqulin; son-in-law, James Spergon.
