Wife - Mother - Grams - Volunteer
Our beloved "Mommy" and "Grams", Ann Kosovich Dahl, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2016, at the age of 91, having lived a full and productive life. She was born to Steve T. and Manda Brkljacic Kosovich on December 21, 1924, in Bingham Canyon, Utah. She attended schools in Bingham and graduated from Jordan High School. She married Everett Eric Dahl on June 21, 1947. Ann and Ev were married for 60 years. They had two daughters, Annette and EvAnn.
When asked, Ann stated that her "occupation" was that of a homemaker. She excelled in all aspects of that title. She added mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her career, as time came for each.
Ann was very active in the community and state. She loved her volunteer work.
She worked alongside Ev, as they established his legal practice in Midvale. They were also a team, as he served in the Army Reserve, and later, as the mayor of Midvale.
Ann served in the PTA, the Reserve Officers Association for Ladies (ROAL), and the Women's State Legislative Council, to name a few. She loved to learn and study. Ann also loved her "sweets", especially pastries from Glaus Bakery and chocolate.
Ann is predeceased by her parents and four sisters (Mary, Manda, Dorothy, and Katie). She is survived by her daughters, Annette Dahl Wood Brailsford (Kevin) of Midvale, and EvAnn Dahl Weimer Hawley (Rick) of Harrisburg, PA, three grandsons, Ben Wood (wife, Michelle), Morey Weimer and Nicholas Weimer, as well as her three month old great granddaughter, Elisabeth Anne Wood. "Aunt Ann" also leaves behind over two generations of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her primary care physician, Dr. Robert Powel, MD, and all those who work with him. Our appreciation also extends to Compass Rehabilitation Center. Finally, our gratitude goes to the loving, caring staff at Alta Ridge Memory Care and Millcreek Home Health and Hospice. The comfort and compassion they provided to our mom allowed her to live with dignity and respect during the six months prior to her passing.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 1:00 pm, at Goff Mortuary (8090 S. State Street), where family and friends may call Wednesday, April 6th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 11:45 am-12:45 pm, prior to the services. Burial will be in the Midvale City Cemetery.
