Amy Gonzales, 84, completed her journey on earth January 29, 2018. Amy was born to Joe and Tsuyako Miyagishima September 13, 1933. She grew up in Copperfield-Bingham; where her family ran a boarding house. After finishing nursing school in California, she married David (Duggie) Gonzales. They moved to South Jordan where they built a new home and raised 6 children. Amy worked as a nurse at Cottonwood Hospital for 32 years retiring in 1998. Her favorite time was the 4th of July when friends and family would gather at her home for a BBQ and a spectacular view of the fireworks around the valley. She was a mother to all and her door was always open.
Amy is survived by her six children Rory (Cathy), Gregory (Debbie), Lisa, Jaren, Duffy (Jodi) and Cara. She has eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Martha Blaimer and her cherished Gonzales and Miya Families. She was preceded in death by husband David Gonzales, brother Russell Miya and brother-in law Ludwig Blaimer.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 3, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Midvale from 1:00-4:00 pm.
