Allen Gene Riddle entered this world on Father's Day, June 21, 1953 to Arnold Gene Riddle and Donna Jean Bassett. He died on Father's Day, June 16, 2019.
At a young age, Al raced tote gote off-road motorcycles, winning several awards. His love of horses began with Ginger at the age of 12, and that love carried on throughout his life. Al was an avid bowler winning several junior awards. As an adult, he bowled several Pro Bowler Tournaments and qualified for a Pro Bowler Card. Most of Al's career was in finance working for several credit unions and finance companies. Later in life he worked at Comcast and became a mentor, encouraging others and showing them the right way of collections. He loved working with the public and his career was a reflection of his thoughtfulness and consideration of others. Al had an unwavering love of Jesus Christ. He served the Lord in many capacities, including worship leader in Portland. Gardening was a passion and his secret garden was his pride and joy. Al's love for his family was undeniable. He rarely missed a sports event or other activities for his children and grandchildren.
He married "The Love of my Life," Debrah Williams on August 3, 1990. They became inseparable. Together they loved their kids and grandkids, dogs, going to estate sales and bowling. Al became Debbie's Head Coach , caddy and cheerleader supporting her bowling career.
Preceded in death by his father Gene. He is survived by his wife, Debrah, mother Donna, brother Craig, children Heidi (KayLyn), Shellie (Destin), Evan (Kelly), Michael (Mindy), and 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, June 20, from 6-8 p.m. Goff Mortuary, 8090 State St., Midvale. At his request, a birthday celebration will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1441 W. 4630 S., Taylorsville, Friday, June 21, at 1:00 p.m., with a viewing one hour prior.
