Alisa Houmand

Alisa Houmand, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on November 25th in Sandy, Utah.

Alisa was born to Craig and Vicki Houmand on January 6, 1985 in Costa Mesa, California.

She attended Jordan High School and graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in social work in 2018.

Alisa worked in helping high school students obtain college scholarships at Westlake High School. She also owned a lawncare business named Green Queen. She transformed lawns and flower gardens into places of beauty.

She served as a Primary teacher and organist (Hillcrest 2nd Ward) and ward missionary and organist (Draper 17th Ward).

When Alisa was born, Heavenly Father sent a special spirit to the Houmand family. From the beginning, she was full of energy, adventure, and spunk. Her sense of humor was second to none. Get-togethers were always more fun when Alisa was around - she was the life of the party! Whether telling a funny story or joke, dressing up as the Easter Bunny or Big Foot, she brought smiles and laughter to every occasion.

Alisa loved to travel (recent trips to South Carolina and Costa Rica), was a big Chevy fan (owned two classic pickup trucks and a Camaro), and enjoyed rooting for Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.

We are impressed with Alisa's ability to connect with many types of people. Her circle of friends stretched far and wide. She had a gift for seeing the best in others and making everyone feel valued and special. In her short life, she brought more happiness to others than many people do in an entire lifetime.

Alisa's life tapestry contains threads of love for God, family, friends, and animals. Additionally, threads of kindness are also woven in - kindnesses shown to Alisa and kindnesses Alisa shared with others. What a beautiful life tapestry she has! She is truly irreplaceable. In losing Alisa here, Heaven gained an angel!

Alisa is survived by her parents (Craig and Vicki), brothers: Brandon and Devin (Alison), sister Amy (Brendan Willig), nephew and niece (Brett and Chloe), grandmother Karen Houmand, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
