Alberta Young San Nicolas passed on November 15, 2020. She was born March 1, 1931 in Monticello, Utah. She is survived by her twin brother Albert Young of Kanab, Utah. They are the fifth and sixth of eight children born to Ernest Leslie Young and Mary Esther Jarvis. She married Sal Centanne on June 9, 1950. They are the parents of twin boys Steven and Dwight, born on Election Day, November 4th, 1952. Steve resides in Emeryville, Calif., and Dwight in San Jose, Calif.
She will be dearly missed by surviving siblings Ethel Millard of Sonoma, Calif., Dorothy Handy of Inkom, Idaho, Joseph Young of St. George, Utah, and her twin brother Albert.
Alberta graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell, Calif. She worked in various occupations throughout her life; graduating from Hayward Beauty College in 1963. She was a sales representative for Roux Beauty College and Salons, a receptionist for Analog Devices, and inspected circuit boards for Atari Games, which represents some of her work experiences. She also did demonstrations for Sam's Club in Murray, Utah for 18 years.
She loved dancing at the Murray Art Center. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by sister Frances Block of Hanford, Calif., brothers Howard Young of Las Vegas, Nev., Melvin Young of Cedar City, Utah, and husband Johnny San Nicolas, a Feather-Weight Boxing Champion of Guam, whom she married in February 1970.
She was grateful for the kindness and support from her many friends during the past four years of her progressive illness.
Burial will take place in the Joseph, Utah Cemetery.
