Adrianne Rae Mickelsen, age 45, beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away suddenly after a decades-long struggle with myriad mental and physical health issues. Throughout her life, Adrianne loved creating art. As a child, she made a range of miniatures from found objects, from Play Doh cats to pistachio people. Later she created metal and clay sculptures, paintings, photographs, and jewelry. Adrianne showed her work in an artist exhibition and sold several photo prints. She loved animals and had many pets including fish, turtles, guinea pigs, dogs and cats. Adrianne tamed many semi-feral kittens she found on her family’s wooded property. She traveled extensively as a teen and young adult, visiting countries including Sweden, England, France, Thailand, and Switzerland. Adrianne had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved all things that sparkled, and loved her children very much. She was very intelligent and yet full of contradictions; she had the heart of a child and the mouth of a sailor. She will be deeply missed.
Adrianne was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Donna Rae Mickelsen, and wonderful grandparents, Gordon and Dorothy Mickelsen. She is survived by her two children, Conrad and Avalina; her father, Brent Mickelsen; and her sisters Mary Jacobs and Denise Peden.
Private services will be held, and she will be interred at Sandy City Cemetery. May she experience peace in death that eluded her in life.
