Addie LaRue Hofheins Pitts was welcomed into her Heavenly Father's arms on August 20th 2024.
LaRue was born in Salt Lake City to Addie Potter and Clifton Reed Hofheins on Sept 03, 1938. She was the middle child and only daughter. She attended Olympus High School where she met her husband Earl Bradford Pitts. They were married March 27, 1957. Later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children.
Mom and Dad loved to take weekend trips with their family from their home in Michigan to extravagant places like Gettysburg, New York, Upper Michigan, and on occasion, home to Utah.
Mom loved and served in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers as National Historian for 20 years.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Family History Center.
Mom was an eager participant in any outing or family activity and often hosted "Grandma Dinners." She loved playing games with her children and grandchildren. She was known for bringing ice cream to Family Night although she claimed to not like it at all. And she was a Wii bowling champion - with a trophy to prove it.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her brother Dean Hofheins (Patty) and her children, Kathy (Stephen Tibbs), Mike (Stephanie), Sean (Shemayne), and Sharron (Craig Sharp). Also 13 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren who referred to her as “Grandma Great”.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 24 at 11:00 am at 67 Clay Park Drive. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the funeral.
The family would like to thank the gentle care from the staff at The Abbington. We offer a special thank you to the profound love and friendship from Kim and Rachel at Aspire Home Health.
The service will be livestreamed on the Goff Mortuary Facebook Page at the following link:
