Aaron Harold Parkin (40), beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly October 20, 2023 after complications following a surgical procedure to rid his body of an infection.
Aaron was born July 12, 1983 in Payson, Utah to Steve and Joann Parkin. He was their 3rd child, joining Patrick, Jason, and later Stephanie. As Aaron grew older, he decided to leave Nephi and move up north where he met Andrea Platt. Together they shared a daughter, Sabria Judy Parkin. They later divorced. After moving back to Nephi, Aaron met Jodi Holt and they had a daughter, Nora Lynn Parkin who was named after a nickname her Grandpa Steve gave to her daddy Aaron, (because Aaron spelled backwards is Nora-a). He also took on a father’s role for Jodi’s daughter Jacelyn, whom he loved and cared for very much! He was meant to be a “girl dad” and loved each of his daughters unconditionally.
Despite his struggles, Aaron was determined to fully follow in his fathers footsteps and accomplished getting his CDL license. He was also a very gifted, dedicated mechanic whose dad would be incredibly proud of him. From being a little boy and putting model cars and trucks together, to becoming a man who turned his dreams of being on the open road into reality. He was truly his best self when he was doing what he loved more than anything; being a dad, and truckin’. He loved going out in the wrecker and helping anyway he could. He would always tease his Mom and ask, “why did he have to inherit her soft-heartedness,” but anyone who truly knew Aaron knew what a true heart of gold he had. He was a huge teddy bear, and loved with his whole heart. He will be very missed!
Aaron is survived by his mother, Joann Parkin; daughters, Sabria, Jacelyn, and Nora Lynn; siblings, Patrick, Jason (JoAnna), and Stephanie; nieces and nephews, Lawana Bateman (grandmother), Craig Bateman (uncle).
Preceded in death by his Dad and Hero Steve Parkin, his grandparents, his fishing buddy Uncle Mike Bateman, and many friends who all greeted him in heaven with open arms.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 25th at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior at the Nephi 5th Ward church (345 E. 500 N. in Nephi), also Tuesday night the 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home (94 W. 300 N. in Nephi).
