Walter David Perry Iv

Walter David Perry IV was born July 22, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walter David Perry III and Lila Edna Walton. He first married Darcy Dawn Jolley (divorced). He then married Julie LaVerna Arnold on March 28, 1975 in the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed for all time and eternity. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter David Perry III and his sister, Diane True (Perry) Parsons. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julie LaVerna Arnold and his children: Tracy Dawn (Wood), Walter David V, Brooke Lynn (Thompson), Alma Glen, Krystal Mavreen (Roberts), Gabriel True (Seeger), Porsche Lou (Christensen), Donovan Reuel, Reuben Michael, Julienne Monet (Montemayor), and Quinette Triana (Gonzalez), 32 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brothers: Richard Perry (Babette), Ronald Perry (Linda), and Tom Perry. After a long battle with cancer, he passed away quietly at home, surrounded by loved ones and next to his sweetheart.

After high school, he attended Weber State College and earned a certificate in Aircraft instrument Repair which he used in the United States Army Reserve. David graduated from Salt Lake Community College in Computer Aided Drafting and an Associate of Science and was on the President's List. He later returned as an Adjunct Professor. He continued his education at the University of Utah in engineering.

David has been a business owner and operator of Dave Perry's Texaco and Towing in Draper, Utah and Perry's Postal and Print with three locations in Draper, Riverton, and Sandy. He worked for WESTECH Engineering and worked on waste water clarifiers. He also enjoyed working with his brothers at Perry Brothers Honda (now Honda World).

David served faithfully as he fulfilled many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and his wife, Julie, were privileged to serve an inner city mission in the Pioneer Stake, Salt Lake City, Utah. They loved the people and had many wonderful experiences there. One of his most beloved callings was in the temple and served for twenty-seven years in the Jordan River Temple, the Salt Lake Temple and the Draper Temple.

He enjoyed art, hot rods, racing, and quilting with his wife. Together, they created over sixty quilts to give to their children and grandchildren. He loved going to the car shows and made many great friends. He loved being in the garage working on a new project car or any other project he could come up with. He enjoyed puttering in the yard or just sitting on the back deck and enjoying his surroundings. He enjoyed the cabin and camping.

He loved his country and the Constitution and always had a flagpole in his front yard and a flag waving. He served his community on the Planning and Zoning Committee and was instrumental in helping Draper to become a city. He was also on the City Council and Draper Chamber of Commerce. He later ran for other public offices to give people another choice and opportunity to vote.

He loved his family, past and present. He was a fun grandpa and always ready for a party and celebration with colored lights. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Dave and Julie raised their family in Draper, Utah for 25 years. They have lived in Sandy, Utah for the last sixteen years.

We look forward to being together again in the eternities when we can all live without pain and sorrows.

Viewing will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Goff Mortuary located at 8090 South State Street.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Midvalley 7th Ward church house located at 1223 East 7800 South with a viewing to be held at 10:00 AM at the same location.
