In Loving Memory
Midvale, UT-Doris Alta Booth Bird passed away on November 24, 2021. She was born on September 8, 1935, to Charles Vilow Booth and Alta Cundick Booth in Murray, Utah. She attended Jordan High School; and was a life-long Midvale, Utah, resident. She married her second husband and best friend, Dewey Lee Bird, in 1958.
"Grandma Bird" held many roles during her lifetime: mother, daughter, grandmother, friend, accounting assistant, master chef, master gardener, seamstress, caregiver, and homemaker. Doris taught her children to be independent and confident. She lived a life of devotion to family and friends. She had an intuitive sense of what is kind and loving and improved the lives of everyone who met her.
Our beautiful Mom lived a life filled with compassion and endless service to others. She taught us to work hard, love one another, and be humble enough to apologize when in the wrong. She was always affectionate, giving kisses and hugs freely. Mom's love for children; her warm smile; and sweet innocence were her most endearing qualities.
Doris had a passion for gardening that won her community awards. She was a fantastic cook; and spent her time making big meals for her family. We are grateful for the love she had for our Heavenly Father and the Savior, and we find comfort that this knowledge gave her peace in leaving this world.
Doris is survived by her three daughters, Colleen Kae O'Brien Salazar, Marcie Ann O'Brien Beistline, and Lori Lee Bird Enniss. Doris Bird had a special friendship with Lori and her husband, Boyd Enniss, who were her constant companions and caregivers for many years. Doris dearly loved her 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Vilow; her mother, Alta; her husband, Dewey; her two stepsons, Bryce Kelly Bird and Michael Dewey Bird; and her grandsons Kelly Michael Bird, and Matthew J. Pollock.
Services will be held to honor Doris Alta Booth Bird at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah, on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm, with a viewing from 12:00-12:45 pm.
